OKC's GOT THE BLUES

The jazz scene in Oklahoma City boasts of a rich heritage. It has long been rumored that the music of Charlie Christian still wafts across the sidewalks of Deep Deuce on summer evenings. And the more recent stylings of Benny Garcia, Larry Pierce, and many others continue to delight jazz fans throughout the year.

This Site is dedicated To Mr. Benny Garcia & his beautiful family.

On September 17, 2005, Benny Garcia lost his battle. He is already greatly missed, but his legacy of song and grace will live on in all of the hearts and minds and spirits of those who he touched with his music and his friendship.

As this site all comes together, we hope that you enjoy checking back often. It is a work in progress, and probably always will be. We would like to encourage any of you who have pictures, information, stories, or just fond memories to share with us. Help us to present the Oklahoma Jazz Story to the rest of the world. It is a tale that must be told, and it is best told by those who witnessed it.
